It’s all coming this September 2022.ģD Realms announced the return of Realms Deep 2022 in a press release on August 31, 2022. Not only is Realms Deep 2022 bringing us another showcase of news and reveals from across 3D Realms’ partners, but it will also feature an in-person event with Realms Deep’s first ever LAN party. Up to this point, every Realms Deep has been all digital. Regardless, I am a solid supporter of Talisman DE and how it has gone so far, and look forward to seeing more content in the future, as it's clear that Talisman has a lot of life in it still.Realms Deep has become a yearly thing for 3D Realms and all of the developers that work alongside it, but the showcase was born in the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather, there exists a lot of complementary ideas on how Talisman could continue to expand with DE only content going forward. Obviously, Clockwork Kingdom has some significant advances - Cog, Materials, Inventions, and so on are new concepts, so I am not claiming that Nomad stole the idea from the fan expansion. I would point out that the latest DLC, Clockwork Kingdom, bears a resemblence to a fan expansion on Talisman Island called Clockwork City, and content from this expansion could provide an ideal companion to Clockwork Kingdom. A lot of these are pretty much fully functional, using only basic refining and artwork development, as well as AI implementation, for them to work with DE. What I was suggesting about fan material is that without Workshop support, these are ideal places to look for future content that can be developed for DE.

IMHO, the Nether Realm is the weakest of the expansions, but I am also guessing it was the simplest to produce, as it's an extra deck used only with additional endings. They were designed as a set by Jon New of Talisman Island, and then had to be redesigned when those two became official products. There's a lot of other interesting possibilities on sites like these, and it would be great to see a selection of the best added to DE.ĭid GW ratify the DE only DLC that Nomad created? I understand some of the complexities of the licensing agreement for Talisman DE - I am curious to see whether the hinted at new physical expansion from the new license-holder Pegasus Games will make it to DE in the future.Īs for Realms of Adventure, I don't know why FFG ratified the Deep Realms and the Nether Realms as Print on Demand products, but decided against the Realms of Legend. The second of these sets, the Realms Untraveled, simply features extra cards for the sets introduced by the Deep Realms, the Nether Realms, and the Realms of Legend, as well as a new ending which requires the characters to travel to the four different realms - known collectively as the Realms of Adventure. This, I think, would add some much desired balance to the Board itself. The first of these, The Realms of Legend, introduced the Borderlands, featuring a way to travel between the Woodland and the Highland, as well as exploring two secret realms formerly held by the Dwarves and the Elves. I like quite a few of them, but with the official release of the Deep Realms and the Nether Realm, it might be nice if we could get the other two "Realms" expansions by Jon New in the game. There's a number of fan-made Talisman Expansions over on sites like so what I want to know, which, if any, you think Nomad should consider developing for DE.
